Esta obra propone una contemplación del paisaje de alta montaña como un espacio de transición entre lo visible y lo intangible. Inspirada en el Cerro Chirripó, la composición conduce la mirada por un sendero que se abre paso entre la vegetación, invitando a una experiencia de ascenso tanto física como interior. La neblina que envuelve las montañas diluye los límites del territorio y sugiere la constante transformación de la naturaleza.
La utilización de pinturas alquídicas sobre un bastidor mojado genera veladuras, transparencias y texturas impredecibles que dialogan con los fenómenos atmosféricos característicos del páramo. Este procedimiento permite que el agua participe activamente en la construcción de la imagen, integrando el azar como un elemento expresivo.
El contraste entre la luminosidad cálida del horizonte y los tonos fríos de la montaña evoca un instante suspendido entre la noche y el día, entre la incertidumbre y la revelación. Más que representar un lugar específico, la obra busca capturar la sensación de inmensidad, silencio y resiliencia que define al paisaje del Chirripó, convirtiéndolo en una metáfora del recorrido humano frente a la naturaleza y al tiempo.

This work proposes a contemplation of the high-mountain landscape as a space of transition between the visible and the intangible. Inspired by Cerro Chirripó, the composition guides the viewer's gaze along a path that winds through the vegetation, inviting an experience of ascent that is both physical and inward. The mist enveloping the mountains dissolves the boundaries of the territory and suggests the constant transformation of nature. The use of alkyd paints on a wet canvas creates unpredictable washes, transparencies, and textures that engage in dialogue with the atmospheric phenomena characteristic of the pá, ramo. This process allows water to actively participate in the construction of the image, incorporating chance as an expressive element. The contrast between the warm luminosity of the horizon and the cool tones of the mountain evokes a suspended moment between night and day, between uncertainty and revelation. Rather than representing a specific place, the work seeks to capture the sense of vastness, silence, and resilience that defines the landscape of Chirripó, transforming it into a metaphor for the human journey in the face of nature and time.
